National Cheesesteak Thursday began on Thursday, March 24, 1994. On this day, four high school seniors embarked on what would be the start of a revolution. It was a white chariot, a Dodge Daytona, that shuttled the four boys to Stoxy's where they would become men.

Stoxy's (now closed) was a modest establishment in Northeast Philadelphia. The boys decided to go there for something different. With graduation looming, the four men wanted to share something together that would last through the ages. Sure they had many lasting memories together, parties, girls, road trips, but they were looking for more. They decided to share a Cheesesteak.

Each year thereafter, McG sends a letter to all the followers of the holiday celebrating this occasion and the Cheesesteak. Over the years the following has grown into the hundreds, if not the thousands. And the following continues to grow each year.
